Welcome to the Internal Quality Assurance Unit (IQAU), Swamy Vipulananda Institute of Aesthetic Studies (SVIAS), Eastern University, Sri Lanka
Introduction
The Internal Quality Assurance Unit at the SVIAS operates under the Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA) of the Eastern University, Sri Lanka. Its primary responsibility is to uphold the quality of academic programmes offered by the institute. The IQAU is dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in all activities undertaken by SVIAS.

Mission
“Create and implement a robust quality assurance system across all components of the higher education framework at the SVIAS ensuring continuous improvement in teaching, learning, student support, and institutional development. This system will be aligned with local and international academic standards, reflecting the mission and vision of the institute”
Responsibilities
- To promote quality enhancement activities within the Institute liaising with Curriculum & Academic Development Committee/ Curriculum Review Committee, and other Institute Committee and Departments
- To liaise with the CQA of the Eastern University, Sri Lanka in facilitating the conduct of the Institutional Review and Programme Reviews in the Institute
- To prepare documents necessary for the Institutional and Programme Reviews
- To facilitate implementation and follow-up actions recommended in Institution/Programme/Subject Review reports, and monitor progress in their implementation
- To liaise with FQACs in other Faculties within the Eastern University, Sri Lanka to share good practices and enhance the quality of higher education in Sri Lanka.
- To collect and analyze Institute QA measures or changes to the existing measures, based on the data collected on various QA indicators such as peer feedback, student evaluation reports, lecture conducting patterns and external reviews
